Traveling Barbados

The beaches and water are what everyone says they remember about Barbados ! It is true!!!  The Caribbean is truly crystal clear here in Carlisle bay which sets up for great fun paddleboarding or snorkeling or just walking the white sand beaches.

I am staying at the Radisson Aquatic Resort (http://www.radisson.com/st-michael-hotel-bb/brbbbds) and I must say i am impressed with the service and general feel of this place. There was a last minute change in my plans and i cannot thank them enough for how they accommodated me with ease and efficiency.

The entire staff is friendly and patient and always willing to help and greet you with a hello enjoy your stay. There is a small pool but the best is the lounge chairs set up every morning with umbrellas overlooking the crystal clear, warm waters of the Caribbean. Beach Towels can be gotten at the front desk. No need to pack your own!!! Bring a mask snorkel and fins as the water is perfect and the fish are plentiful. There is a restaurant on the hotel grounds and also Neptunes snack bar which will serve you as you sit on your lounge chairs on the beach.

All in all the location the view the ease of paddleboarding here and the reasons for staying here are endless. I rented a paddleboard from Sarah at www.paddlebarbados.com They are located right on the beach can give lessons if you need and have a variety of boards to fit your level. Helpful friendly and so easy to rent a few points on getting board in over waves and off i was going in the 10'6" board to weave in and out of all the boats moored in the bay. Thank you Sarah!

We found a wonderful driver, Dami to take us around the country. Sunset at Bellport Dock

So many people have told me what great pictures i take! I just love sunrises and sunsets and water and interesting places! It calms me and gives me that "feel good" feeling. Recently, my daughter gave me her camera and with it a friend suggested I create a blog. So new camera inhand and still learning it, I traveled to Barbados and begin this blog.
I knew this trip held a special purpose although sometimes we are never quite sure what that might be. Slowly as the week evolves, i can see it unfolding as I grow through it and find my serenity in the life that surrounds us.
I am from Bellport, Long Island, New York. The water and sun have always called to me and live in my blood. I share with you my travels in hopes that for a brief moment you will also get the feeling of peace we all have within. From shore to shore, we journey inward and outward seeking the experiences of life.
